Whatever You're Doing ...

There is a song out by Sanctus Real that says this:

Whatever You're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but somehow there's peace
It's hard to surrender to what I can't see,
But I'm giving in to something Heavenly...

If you have not heard this song you need to rush right on over to youtube and watch this video and listen to this song....it is amazing. My cousin played me this song last night and it was salve to my hurting, waiting soul. I can so identify with the part that says it feels like chaos inside, but somehow there's peace. God is moving and working, this I know. It's just the process that is so hard sometimes.

A very sweet blog friend sent me a card last week and she wrote at the bottom Isaiah 40:31. Not the whole verse just "Isaiah 40:31". So I picked up my Bible and went to looking. That was the first of many times in the last couple of weeks that God has brought this verse along in my life, at times very unexpectedly. I love that. Well it is very familiar to most of you I'm sure, but I would like to "quote" it out of The Message. Oh how I do love me some Message Bible these days. More of that salve I've been talking about.

"But those who wait upon GOD get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don't get tired,
They walk and don't lag behind."

Have you ever thought about soaring? What that would feel like to be completely free? I've wondered, and yet at the same time, I've wondered if I'd be scared and forget to flap my wings (yes, that is another post =) anyway.....

I love this verse and the thought of getting "fresh strength." Don't you just long for a refreshing sometimes, I know I sure do. And speaking of refreshing...

It is just so good to be back to church. I can't tell you the joy it gives me to be able to sit in His Presence in that setting....joy to my soul and yes salve as well.

Dakota sang so beautifully at SWCL on Saturday. He decided not to go to districts because of the play and he said it would just be to much, and it would. But boy, I'm telling you, he would so be rocking districts if he was going!!! I took our camera, but it was so quiet in there I wasn't sure the judge would let us tape, so I didn't, but let me just tell ya, he sang just beautiful!!

I hope you all have a Blessed and Beautiful Monday,

Expectantly Waiting.

Have you ever been in a season of waiting on God, and through it all you fretted or worried or feared? I certainly have. Right now in this season of our lives, we are waiting on God for something huge and trusting Him for it. We are in the early stages of this waiting, so that is why what He showed be last night was so wonderful!!!

He told me to wait expecting Him to do something. WOW!! Yes Lord speak. He showed me how expecting Him to do something in this waiting period would spur on my faith and belief. Wait....knowing He will move.......it gives new meaning to the term "Great Expectations!!!"

Many times I have waited for God to do something and been wringing my hands or spent way to much time NOT understanding. Our Pastor Wednesday night said that some things we will never understand. We don't need to spend our time on the not understanding, but instead focus our attention on the only One who can change it. Can I get an Amen?!!

I wish I could say that I was ready for this season, but I cannot say that. But what I can say, is that God has been preparing me for this time. He knew what was coming and none of it is a surprise to Him. So I rest in knowing that God is good all the time and all the time God is good and He has my hand in His and so we walk on through this trial.

I am just loving The Message Bible right now. It is like suave to this hurting heart. I read this morning out of Psalm 27:

"I'm asking GOD for one thing, only one thing: To live with Him in His house my whole life long. I'll contemplate His beauty; I'll study at His feet. That's the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world ... I'm sure now I'll see God's goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with GOD! Take heart. Don't quit. I'll say it again: Stay with God."

So we walk on expecting from God. He will deliver!!

I wanted to give you a knee update. I've had several inquire of the old girl, so thought I'd just update ya =) It is actually doing alright. I'm back in PT, and they will probably be ordering the turnbuckle brace at the end of next week I'd say. It is not swelling as bad, but I have noticed an interesting limp. Of course I try to not limp and that just complicates matters, because then I'm thinking to hard....ya know what I mean? anyway......... I will limp right on =)

Dak is singing his solo's at the SWCL Music Contest tomorrow. He has a beautiful voice and tries so hard. I love to hear him sing. The songs that the teacher picked out for him this year are both in English which is a plus, but they are REALLY challenging rhythmically and dynamically, but he is doing great!!! He sang them for me last night....ahh the voice of my child singing...music to my ears =) Anyway can't wait to hear him tomorrow!!

I hope you all have a Beautifully Blessed weekend!!

The Truth of the Matter...

Psalm 73:1 "No doubt about it! God is good..." That is the Truth of the matter. No matter what we go through on this earth, God is good!!!

Last night I went to church....Oh Hallelujah!!!!! YAY The first Wednesday night back since surgery. I literally started shaking as I sat in the Presence of the Lord before the service even began. It was a moment I will not forget. He was right there with me and showing Himself beautiful to me. Priceless.

I wanted to share with you my notes:

They are of course backwards, because blogger doesn't like me, but that's okay....I'll get over it =) anyway.... How great it is to be back to my note-writing self. Do ya'll do that? Take notes in church?

And how cute is this journal? This is the one I got to take prayer notes in as I'm finishing up "Whispers of Hope" and want to continue that format even as I work through "90 Days with David: A Heart Like His".

I want to share just a bit from the pastor's message last night. On Wednesday nights we have a very different format from any other service. It is prayer meeting so we begin by breaking up into groups of three or four and praying for individual needs, I love this part. I didn't really used to, I would feel awkward or uncomfortable, but God has so done a work in my heart concerning this area of my life. There is so much power in prayer!!!!! I should note that we go to a large church, so when we split into groups of three or four, generally these are people I don't know. So I think that added to my anxiety over it at first. But I was so grateful for the sweet ladies that I prayed with last night. It was beautiful.

Then we pray for a prayer list that has to do with items in the church and then we prayed for our Easter service and names of people that need salvation (they have cards that people have written lost loved ones names on) love that..... And then we prayed for our prayer cards. They are in the back of the pews and you can fill one out in any service and put it in the bucket and those cards are prayed for, for a month, both on Wednesday evenings and the Pastor's prayer for them on their retreat. Also a beautiful thing.

And then our pastor, Pastor John Lindell teaches out of the Psalms. The Psalm he taught out of last night was Psalm 73 and he taught out of The Message Bible. It was so good.

He started with this. Does life just seem unfair? You see things that happen and think, hey that's not right -- that's not fair? And then he said something I hadn't really considered just point blank, he said: "God is not fair. And you wouldn't want Him to be." Ummm well no, because if He was fair then we'd get what we deserve. Oh Father how I love you that you didn't give me what I deserve!!! You sent Jesus so we wouldn't get what we deserve. Jesus paid the price for our sin on the cross ~~ Oh the mercy and grace ~~

I just want to share with you the last part of this Psalm out of The Message. After the Psalmist writes about how the wicked seemingly prosper (basically he's saying it's just unfair -- paraphrased =) he writes this:

"You're all I want in heaven! You're all I want on earth! When my skin sags and my bones get brittle, God is rock-firm and faithful. Look! Those who left you are falling apart! Deserters, they'll never be heard from again. But I'm in the very presence of God - oh, how refreshing it is! I've made Lord GOD my home. God, I'm telling the world what you do!"

Oh how I love these verses!!! This is a very difficult season that our family is in right now, but we are trusting God through it all. He is all we want in heaven and all we want on earth. We trust You God. Teach us and show us Your mercy and grace. Oh the love of the Savior!!

Have a Blessed day,

The Freedom of Obedience

There is a certain peace and freedom that comes with a life lived in obedience to Jesus Christ. I have so found this to be true in my own life. Free from worry, free from guilt, free from anxiousness and eventually free from pain. Hallelujah!!! And I mean ALL pain, not just of the physical variety, but ALL pain...double Hallelujah!!

What has brought this about you ask? Well, yesterday afternoon after hubs got home I was checking in on a few of my daily blog reads and I came to MckMaMa's and heard of the severe trouble Stellan is having. My hubs and I went to our prayer closets and prayed and prayed. I love that he would drop all he was doing as soon as he heard and beaconed us to pray. That is a Godly, loving me like Christ loves the church, kind of husband. He is all that I say he is here. No fooling around. He is just that Godly. I love that about it. And because he is like that it flows to the whole of our lives. When you live with God in the center it touches all that you do....triple Hallelujah!!!

Well, as I was checking updates later in the evening, MckMaMa started her post last night with this verse: II Corinthians 4:17 "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." Can I just tell you what that did for this little Mo girl's faith. To see this mother that has been through so much quote this verse in the midst of a life changing situation spoke volumes to me. She says in this post that none of what they are going through right now seems light or momentary, but she knows in the grand scheme of things it is....yes great faith this young beauty has. If you have not gotten caught up on this story please go here or click the link in my side bar. It is worth your time to meet this lady....well worth your time.

So this verse is one that I kind of committed to memory a while back, kind of. But it is one that I will be committing to memory over the next few days along with the ones surrounding it.

IICornthians 4:16-18 "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

So what do you say? Would you like to join me in memorizing any one or all of these verses? If you are not part of the SMT, you can go here to read more about it. But it is one of the best things I have done in a REALLY long time!! I love having God's Word in my heart. So if you'd like to join me just write these verses on a card you can slip in your purse and maybe on a card you can stick on your bathroom mirror or on your kitchen cabinet and read it, pray it, meditate on it. As you spend time in God's Word He will so open it up to you. He will child, He so will. He loves you sooooooooooo much!!!!! And He wants you to know Him better.

So what is He asking you to be obedient in today? Go ahead child take the leap of faith that it takes to be obedient to Him. Sometimes it is not an easy step, believe me I've fallen down a lot while taking this step, but I have found that when I step out in faith and be obedient to His call I am never sorry and always glad that I did, and there is such freedom in that choice.

______________________________________________________________

Well today I embark on my next 6 weeks of PT. I am ready to go, kind of. I woke up with an ear ache and allergy nonsense..boo. But other than that I am ready. We will start embarking on a little more intense workouts I would say and they will get the turnbuckle brace ordered (if insurance will pay). So I'm off to do that and also to do a little something else if the weather doesn't get too stormy and forces me back home, but I'll post about that a little later =)

Have a Blessed Tuesday,

Yes hubs has done it this time, he has awakened the organizational monster within. Now this is kind of funny, because hubs is ALWAYS organizing. It gives him great joy to organize his garage. (Yes it is his, and yes that is my stuff on the shelves, but again, yes it is his =) But me....not nearly as much as him. I am more the get it that way, keep it that way kind of gal. Sometimes that works out and others?.. well you know...anyway.....

He got the best gift an organizational whiz such as himself could ever get.....shelves.

A guy he works with has a son who works for AutoZone and every few months they completely get rid of their shelves and put up new. HUH? I know. Do those things have a shelve life (hahahaha) me thinks not. anyway.........

So hubs was the proud recipient of the (FREE) old shelving. You thought he'd got a new car. He has been thinking about exactly what he will do with said shelving, well he decided that as soon as he got the car running again, (which he did and it runs better than it has in years, and saved us a ton of money....thanks again honey) that he would put up shelves, so that is what he has been up to. Well, this weekend he got me in on the act.

Here is some of the fruit of our labors .....

This hangs just out side out garage door and is a joy to my life. I pop my head out and get an onion or a colander (yes Dak, a strainer....it is a constant argument between us =), or an occasional Cherrio, yes it is a joy. I heart this shelf. Well it got an extreme makeover this weekend. Look at it's pretty self...

And yes side note, that is mainly pasta of some form on the bottom shelve. Are we Italian?.. anyway...

Now this beaut is my pantry that was left here by the previous owner, and I love it. In the past it has housed my Ball jars and junk various and sundry other things, but this weekend hubs turned it around so it is easier to get to and I went to work. Lots of canned goods and Kool-aide out here. Sky will like this shelf when he gets old enough for Kool-aide =) Well you can't see the Kool-aide, but it's in there!!!

And this shelf is so GREAT because I have many pretty things but don't use them because they are not accesible. Well, hubs went all out and now they are totally accesible. LOVE THIS!!

Okay so this is my freezer AFTER I cleaned it out this morning. pointless. completely. pointless. I could have been doing my nails.....

We have this beautiful side-by-side refridgerator with water in the door and everything that we bought over the summer when our dinosaur refridgerator went out. The problem with a side-by-side you ask?

Is this.....

No. room. bummer.

Oh well, now I have more yumminess to eat today. Lots of frozen veggies and fruit that must be eaten. darn. (teeheehee)

And speaking of eating fruits and veggies I thought I'd update you on how SparkPeople is going for me. So far, really great!!!!! It is very motivating for me. I love the accesibility of it and also the way it tracks. I have lost a couple of pounds since I started here and 8-10 lbs since Oct. I am very excited for warm weather to be here so I can be out doors doing some serious damage to these few extra pounds I'm carrying around =)

Have a Blessed day and have an extra helping of veggies today ~~ it's good for your heart,

Life Around Here...

Let me introduce you to the.....

One Baby Wrecking Machine ....(OBWM)
(better know as Sky=)

Yeah, don't let this sweet face fool ya......there is a wrecking machine just waiting to get out!!! =)

Well what is this? Hey Petrii that is a weird place for your bench.
Um, why yes I know. You see OBWM pulls the cords out of the TV if said bench is not there......

Oh I see!!

Hey Petrii, what's with the new way your doing your window scarf?

Why yes it is the latest in OBWM decor =)

Other wise OBWM is trying to tear down said window scarf.

Oh I see!!!

Are you talking about this little cutie Scoot?

This would be the one.....

How cute is he? We have SOOOOO much fun with him. He is kind of sick right now with a cold, but he is still such a happy baby......we LOVE being Grandparents!!!!!

Normally by this time in the course of the two weeks that we work on a particular Scripture in the Scripture Memorization Team I have mine memorized and am working on Scrapbooking my page and really working on the meaning and nuiances of that particular Scripture, but this time has been a little different. I have been so busy that I haven't had my usual routine in place.

So about the middle of the week I had been really trying to get it memorized and in my heart, but it just wasn't working. I even had been doubting myself; wondering if I'd really heard God right and was this the Scripture for this time. Well, He assured me it was and NOT to change it. So I left it open on the back of my chair and I'd read it periodically and just started really trusting God for it. Now it still wasn't happening, and can I just say it is so in my personality to fret over it, but I just kept reminding myself that this was what God wanted me to memorize, so I would be faithful.

Well, Thursday morning I woke up quoting the Scripture....not even kidding. I was so excited!!! I just kept quoting it over and over. And believe me prior to that I didn't have it yet. So since then I have just been quoting that Scripture and I even got to share with a dear sister in Christ my experience and I could tell that it was a boost to her weary Spirit. His Word is so alive....living and active....can I get an Amen??!!!

I love the Word of God!!!!!

On another note, we got some very sad news yesterday.

Let me back up...

My husband goes to one doctor. He doesn't and hasn't ever shopped around (so to speak). He found a doc he liked early on and this is the doc he has always gone to...like his whole adult life.

Well we got news yesterday that his beloved Dr. Campbell died while on vacation in Mexico with his wife and boys. He was stung by a jellyfish. Dr. Campbell was about 50 years old and a much loved member of our local community (about 15 mins from here). He will be GREATLY missed by my husband. They were not just doc and patient, but Dr. Campbell was always interested in Dick, not just in his health, but also his life. He was a rare gem........and will be greatly missed. Please remember his family both personal and professional, this will be very difficult on all.

Fun on Friday!!!

Well I had so much fun on this Friday!! This morning I taught in CYC ~~ I heart these kids!!

I also remembered today that I'd forgot to pay my electric bill before we left for Mayo ~~ oops, my bad ~~ and since it was due TODAY ~~ ummm ~~ I went to pay it in person. Well I got there and they moved the place where you pay. What? Who does that?!! So this extremely directionally challenged girl had to find it. That is a problem. But I found it ~~ YAY!!

Then I went to find a new prayer devotional. I've been doing BMoore's Whispers, but I'm almost done with that one and wanted to make sure I have another one here ready to go. I do not want to give myself ANY reason not to have a quiet time. Not an option. So I headed to LifeWay. Well, the devotional I wanted to do was 19.99 on sale, so I headed to Mardel's and thought it was going to be $17.99, but it rang up as $24.99 ~~ What? So then I headed to CPO and they had it for $14.99. Isn't it crazy how the prizes fluctuated. But I did get my new study ~~ "David 90 days with a Heart Like His" ~~ This will be so good!!! I love it when God makes it clear the next devotional to be doing.

Well after that my friend Georgia came over and helped me clean my garden out. Oh the Joy!! I heart Spring and getting the garden ready to go. I can't do much bending so it was nice to have the help. Thanks G.

I'm telling ya the help of others has been so great during this season. Other wise it would fall on my already, really crazy busy boys. We so appreciate all the help!!!!!

Then after school my friend Carrie, leader of CYC came over. I love it ANYTIME she comes to visit. We have the best time together. Talking to her uplifts me so much. It was so much fun!!!

So this has been such a fun day.

This is another quick post. I hope that next week things will slow down and I'll be able to get back to my regular daily posts.

Have a Blessed Saturday,

A Girl and Her Food.....

We left for Mayo on Monday morning, arrived Monday afternoon about 4:00 pm, had x-rays and doc appts Tuesday morning and was back home Tuesday evening at 10:07 pm. WHEW!!! I am tired just recalling it.

I so wanted to post yesterday, but I was doing laundry, dishes, had company and phone calls and just didn't get to sit down and relax much, not to mention I had car-lag. Is that a real thing? Well it is in this kid's world =)

I will for sure give you a doc's update at the end of this post, but first I just had to tell you this story. We have the funniest things happen to us sometimes. And I suppose it is because we are two VERY approachable looking people. Which I am glad for, but we have strange, interesting things happen as a result.

So after we arrived on Monday we checked into our hotel room and then went to get something to eat. Mayo is blessed to have more than one healthy place for this girl to eat, so I actually get choices. Great. So hubs asked me where I wanted to eat and I said pizza...Z's Pizza of course. I love that place. All natural ingredients and they even have a pizza with soy crumbles (funny) and soy cheese (mmm.....), and they have just regular type pizzas as well, complete with pepperoni and hamburger for hubs, so this place is a win-win for us. Except for the fact that they mess our order up A LOT, but another story for another time.

anyway...

We got there and low and behold they have a new menu item........Mediterranean Plate, complete with hummus and pita bread......ARE YOU KIDDING ME? YAY!!!!! So I, of course, ordered that bit of yumminess (yes it also had roasted red peppers and kalamata olives and Feta cheese which I didn't eat, but still) oh be still my heart!!!!! So needless to say I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of our food.

Well we decided to sit in the open part of the mall and we were just minding our own business, talking, ya know having a moment =) and out of the blue (or a store) came a jolly looking gentleman pushing a dolly with a huge box on it, and he stops at our table and looks at Dick and says:

"Chocolate Bunnies"

to which my husband replies:

"excuse me?" (What he was really saying was....funny I thought you just said Chocolate Bunnies.)

Well at this point I am thinking that the man is trying to sell a chocolate bunny to hubs, no he is just making an observation.

To which the man replies:

"Chocolate Bunnies."

To which hubs replies:

"Yeah you have a lot of them."

Riveting conversation.

Then the man leaves....and hubs looks at me and says, "That's a lot of chocolate bunnies for Valentines Day." (I am not making this up) And I say, "Honey, for Easter, not Valentines Day. Valentines Day was in February." (Obviously he forgot my diamond pendant =) Hubs was definitely confused, and then to which he replies, "Why bunnies on Easter?" I give up. I just stared at him and we moved on from the chocolate bunny conversation.

Well our food arrives and I am just loving every moment of my Mediterranean Plate and then about toward the end of it, I see bunny man coming again with an empty dolly. And I tell hubs that here he is again. To which Dick replies, "honey he has been coming up and down since we've been sitting here." Me: "He has?" Dick: "Yes you have been very busy with your food." Well yeah. I mean seriously....do not get in the middle of a girl and her food!!!!!

So we are just getting done and here comes bunny man again, not even kidding. And this time the box is full again, and yes he stops at our table and says: "More bunnies." and this time I looked in. (Why do I do that? Can't I just mind my own business? This was a conversation clearly between two men, but oh yeah I had to stick my nose in it.) And of course this does NOT go unnoticed by bunny man. He looks at me and brightens up, because of course I looked, so that means interest.

Well he says: "These bunnies are pushing wheel-barrows full of chocolate eggs." (Seriously, what else is a Chocolate Bunny going to push but a Chocolate wheel-barrow full of Chocolate eggs.) and then bunny man says: "I don't know how this guy does it. These are so great looking." So I had to bite my tongue to keep from saying: "Molds" I mean seriously, did he think that there was a dude somewhere carving these bunnies out of solid pieces of chocolate and then selling them for $5.95? It was hilarious.

As soon as bunny man was out of sight, Dick looked at me and said, "Let's make a run for it, before he comes back."

Now please know, we were just playing and at no time were we mean to this man. It was just so funny and he was obviously enjoying his bunnies and found a couple who would play along. Fun.

Okay so now to the update. The x-rays look good. Everything is in place and there is no significant OA damage to my joint in that knee, which is really good news.

She said that I was doing well, but had a long way to go. It will be about a year before I am fully recovered. I do have to do PT for another 6 weeks, but now just once a week, and she wants me in a Turnbuckle Brace 2-3 times a day for an hour at a time. This is a brace that has tensioners on the side that you turn to get your leg straight. My leg was 6 degrees from being straight and she wants it at 0 degrees straight. So if our insurance will cover it, this will be the next step in recovery.

She wants me to continue my walking and bike riding and building up strength. The tendon pain I am having is do to excessive swelling. It is going to the back of the knee. This we will be watching just to make sure it doesn't develop a Baker's cyst.

All-in-all it was a good report. I still have some work to do, but they did say that when it is completely well, that I should not have ANY limitations on exercise, I will just need to take it easy and use my head. YAY!!!!! I can do that!!!!! 5 K's here I come ~~ in time =)

We will be heading back up to Mayo in November.....but I don't know any details on that yet. They'll send all that to me later.

Thank you so much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. And for checking in on Dak. He was just thrilled to get comments.

Love you all so much ~~ Have a Blessed day,

Hiding His Word in My Heart...

I so love the Word of God. And I absolutely love being on The Scripture Memory Team with so many of you. I so look forward to the new verses that God places in my heart and yours each time.

So first let me recite (ummmm through typing =) my memory verse from the first part of this month.

I Corinthians 13:12 (NIV) "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror, then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part, then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known."

This verse has been such a comfort to me. Everytime I quote it or meditate on it or read it, I can't help but think of my dear friend Cassie who went to be with the Lord March 3rd. God gave me this verse just prior to her passing, knowing what a comfort it would be to me at this time, and knowing how I would need it in the days to come. He is our timely Father. I'm so thankful.

Well the verse the Lord has laid on my heart for this last half of the month is:

II Corinthians 2:14-15 (NIV) "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him. 15 For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing."

This verse is very convicting to me. The word that really stands out to me in the first part of this verse is always. I have it underlined in my note cards and will also make sure it is highlighted in some way when I scrapbook this verse. That part of the verse is very reassuring and uplifting to me. He ALWAYS leads us in TRIUMPHAL procession in Christ. that is such good news. He is leading, not me.....HELLO!!!!! I don't know if that Blesses anyone else's heart, but man it does mine!!! He is in charge and He is leading, ALWAYS leading!! Yep, Good news.

Okay so on to the convicting part of this verse and that would be verse 15, we are the aroma of Christ... oh my stars, then that means I need to realize this when I'm going through my daily life, sometimes I think I forget that and man when I do can it get ugly around here!!! And it says here that "we are to God the aroma of Christ" we aren't just the aroma to ourselves or those around us, wow we are TO GOD THE AROMA!!!!! That is big!!!!! And then it goes on to say that we are the aroma among those who are being saved but also to those who are pershing. hmmm.........

I have heard so many times that this someone won't go to church because they saw what this one did and if they do that and call themselves a Christian, then why should they go to church, because they are better than that without church. (did that make sense?)

We are the aroma, people, to the lost. The aroma, and it's meant to be a good aroma, but how often am I a stinky aroma? Aroma's can be good and pleasing to smell, or stinky and get me out of here smellin'. I want to be the good and pleasing type of aroma....I want you to come up to me and see Christ all over me and say, "Oh girl you are a pleasing aroma, what is it you are wearing" "Why thank you I am wearing the Spirit of the living God right here inside me" How cool would that be?!!! I want you to see Him and feel Him through me.........I want my life to be that kind of pleasing to my Father. He is so good!!!

Just on a side note...I have a friend whose name is Aroma....and can I just say that she is DEFINITELY a pleasant aroma to be around. She is so edifying and lovely. She lost her husband 2 1/2 years ago and on Valentine's day she got engaged to a gentleman she met in grief recovery. She has stood her ground and would not agree to marry him until she was SURE that it was what God wanted for her life. She is one of my heroes this woman. I love you Aroma!!!

Well, tomorrow morning we are heading out for MN about 7:00 am (CST). So if you are milling about in the morning and think of us, please say a prayer for us. We'd so appreciate it!!! Also this afternoon we are going to pick up the rent-a-car. Please pray for smooth going and no hang-ups. I got our confirmation yesterday for pick-up at 9:00 am this morning and return 9:00 am Wednesday morning.........ummmm no that is not correct.........sigh. It was suppose to be 5:00 pm both pick-up and delivery. So I called and she said that she'd put a note on the computer that we are picking up at 5:00pm so they'll be sure and have a car for us. Oh brother. So if you think of it today you may pray for smooth going for this car rental thing. And we have to pick it up at the airport which we have never been to our airport. hmmmmm...... yes I know I'm concerning myself with the wrong things..........moving on............

I love you all!!!!! Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support for us. The comments you leave me so brighten my day. I will try to write updates the short time we are in MN and traveling.

Have a Blessed Sunday,

PS I posted just last night "Look what I can do" so if you haven't seen it, please scroll down and check it out. I must warn you........it is TOTAL OVER THE TOP CUTENESS!!!!!

Friday's Random Writings

Okay so again my awesome photography skills are showing, mad skills huh? These are not great pictures, but they will maybe show his glasses off.

Do you think my child needs a haircut?!!!! Ummm......yes, yes he does and we will be taking care of that today. So this first one just illustrates the need for a haircut.
Seriously son!!!

So here he is with his glasses. Again me and my mad photo skills, but maybe you can kind of tell. They are so cute. After we get his hair cut I will take another pic.

But anyway, how cute is this sweet thang?

We have decided to rent a car to go to Mayo in this time. With all of our car troubles, it would just not do to get 600 miles from home and break down. No that would not do at all!! So one of my dearest friends offered to pay for a rent-a-car for us. Thank you so much (you know who you are). We love ya like crazy!!!

So speaking of Mayo trips and help I just want to take a minute and tell ya some cool things that have happened as a result of God working on behalf of His children. These trips are expensive. And they have required time away from work for my hubs and hotel rooms, food, not to mention the cost of the procedure (that insurance picked up most of) but we still have bills we're paying off in regards to this surgery. But EVERY time we have gone up, someone has stepped forward and given us money or given of their time to help ease my mind about leaving Dak home etc. It has been overwhelming.

We have just been believing God for these trips. This time Dick will be off of work for 3 days and only has 3 hours of vacation left, but God is faithful. Our taxes should be back by the end of the month and that will help so much. God is AWESOME!!!!!

Two days ago my door bell rang and it was one half of a GREAT couple. They are friends of ours and she came in toting $100.00 bill for us. She said that it was from the Lord. This same sweet couple (who wants to remain anonymous) has given us money each time we have gone up, and each time they have said it is from the Lord. They feel they are blessed to be a blessing. I love you two (you also know who you are).

So this weekend I'll be getting us packed and ready to go and Sunday evening we'll be picking up our car. We are also going to be hanging out with lil Scoot. YAY!!!!! And then Monday morning we'll be leaving bright and early. Please pray for a safe trip and a good result from x-rays and doc's visit and also that she will be able to help with this tendon pain.

This morning God led me to my next 2 sets of verses. Yes, there will be two over the next two weeks for me, I have a feeling. There are 2 sets that God is really speaking to me through and I'll try to get those posted on Sunday. I love it that God is so speaking to me through His Word. During this particular season I have so needed to feast on the Word. I certainly do not need a starving soul. Anyone with me on that?

Hope you have a Blessed weekend,

I Won It...You Grab it... oh Yeah and our itinerary...

About a week or so ago I won a blog button designed by Faith on Denise's blog...YAY!! !Go check her out, what a cutie!!

So how excited am I?!!! I mean who seriously wouldn't want a blog button from the fab Faith?!! Well we e-mailed back and forth and Dak had the final say, and he picked the one I picked as well. It is so cute Faith. You rock sista'!!!

I had it hangin' out in my e-mail box for a few days until I could get my spring look going, which by the way will be changing somewhat again, this one just isn't my favorite. So when I have a little time, I'll be tweaking. But since I did get something up I wanted to go ahead and debut my new blog button.

So go ahead, grab you one, go on. How stylish will this baby look hangin' out on your blog?!! So cute!! And then while you're at it, just jump on over to Faith's and order one for your very own self, and let me know if you do, and I'll put yours on mine (make sense?!!) anyway... =)

______________________________________________________________

On another note, I wanted to post our itinerary for our Mayo trip.

We leave out Monday morning -- (and eat at Mac's Monday evening -- hopefully =)
Tuesday Morning -- X-rays 9:45 -- Doc's appt -- 10:45
Back on the road, hopefully by 12:00 pm
Be home late Tuesday night or Wednesday

Quick trip this time and the weather looks like it is going to cooperate. That is a plus.

We are not expecting anything to come up on the x-rays other than plastic and metal. (How weird is it that they can put plastic and metal in your body now adays?) anyway...

I am still having some issues with tendon pain, but that's cool, hopefully there is not a Baker's siest (so not spelled right) on it. If so, not sure what they do about that. And my PT said they may do an injection in the tendon to help with the pain....um can you can OWWWW!!!!! I've actually had shots in the ole knees before and its not to bad. (Okay I'm just going to keep telling myself that, so run with it people =)

Thank you SOOOOOOOO much for all of your prayers and comments. I so love the body of Christ!!!

Tomorrow is random Friday so hold on to your hats, or Sonic glasses, or....well you know, do I have some randomness for you.

Love ya,

PS I know I'm suppose to have a pic of Dak with his new specs, but he got in late last night, and somehow I think waking him up at 6:30 am on a Spring Break morning would just be well, merunningoutthedoorinmyjammiesawayfromhim, kind of bad =) So I might just jump on and post it a little later............ =O)

Catching the Spark....People ...

As I have stated before, 12 years ago I lost 100 lbs. I really want to get a picture scanned so I can show you a before and after, but I don't know how to run our scanner. sad I know. But maybe one of these days I'll remember when hubs is here and can show me. anyway...

Well a couple of years ago I lost another 25 lbs. I was running and exercising and really feeling pretty good, but then the knee situation started getting worse and my motivation tanked. not.good. So I preceded to gain that 25 lbs. back. boo. After I lost the 25 my family said I was too skinny. (I didn't really know there was such a thing for me, but apparently there is.)

So in the pursuit of just being healthy I would like to lose 14 lbs and start a REGULAR exercise program again. So my baby sis knows all about my weight woes. She has seen me at my worst and my best and thankfully has loved me through it all, Thanks lil sis. And she told me about this web site that helps you track your exercise and food etc. Well I have done these things before and even paid to do these things...gasp!!! But she told me I should check this site out. It is one her wellness coach told her about. So I did.

At first it was overwhelming to me. There is so much stuff to look at and try to figure out. But I went ahead and made a profile and that's pretty much where it stopped. bummer. Well they have been sending me these e-mails based on my profile and issues (like OA) and I have been intrigued. So this week I decided to look into it a little further, and can I just say:

I AM CATCHING THE SPARK....PEOPLE!! The site is sparkpeople.com. If you struggle with weight or just with being healthy this site can really help. It is overwhelming at first, but hang in there. It really is a good site and if you take it in small bites (haha) it is much easier to understand.

My PTist told me yesterday that she thinks I will be able to run again. YAY!!! My sis is cautioning me right now (I hear ya girl), because doc says no, but do ya'll know how much I really love to run? It is a passion of mine. I feel the freeist when I am out there running. Now it will be a lllloooonnnngggg time if at all, but it is something to really look forward to. And in true Petrii fashion, I have set my first goal. I will be training for our local Turkey Trott this November. It is a 5K and the last time I did this was a few years ago, and I ran it. So I may not be able to run it this year, but my goal at this time is to power walk it. So we will see. I am so looking forward to this. I love having a goal to work towards.

So how do you stay fit? And do you have any limitations in fitness? If so, how do you work around them? This is a question I have really wanted to answer to, and SP is helping to answer this question for me. My workout is set up around my knee problems. How great is that?!! I am the type of person that needs a plan and a routine and they do that for ya, GREAT!!

_______________________________________________________

Dak and I went to town yesterday (don't we sound hick to say we went to town?) lol and got him some new glasses. Now this child is so darn cute, who knew a new pair of glasses would make him even cuter?!! Dak has wore contacts for several years and has really wanted a trendy pair of glasses so maybe he can lay off the contacts for a while. They are a pain and I don't like it that he wears them EVERY day. His eyes need a rest I say. Since his old glasses broke it was a great time to get him some new, affordable trendy glasses. And we did just that. I will post a pic tomorrow along with our itinerary for next week and our trip to Mayo.

Hubs started the car last night. YAY!!!!! He has really been working on this car, FOR HOURS EVERYDAY!! I told him it would be nice to have him back =) But he has saved us like $1300.00 -- so great!!!!!

One more thing before I head out to start my day. Since the beginning of the year I have been on the Scripture Memorizaiton Team through the LPM blog. And I just want to tell you that it is changing my life!!! Over the last couple of weeks, knowing these Scriptures have played a BIG part in keeping me out of the pit. And I don't know about you, but I'd like to keep it OUT OF THE PIT!!

Have a Blessed day,

I do love me a routine ...

I am a girl who likes her routine. I get up at 5:00 AM M-F and get hubs off to work and then I usually put my dishes away from my dishwasher and drink a little water and then I start my prayer time and Bible study. Now you might be wondering why I unload said dishwasher and drink water first, well I have found it helps me to get awake so I am not yawning and wanting to go back to bed while I'm having my devotional time. It works for me.

Well because of the events of last week, my routine has been off. And it always seems so hard for me to get back on routine after I've been off of it even for a few days. Well this morning I woke up and while still laying in bed, told hubs that I'd be going back to bed this morning and sleeping in . He thought that was a GREAT idea!!!

Dak's on spring break this week, so I don't need to get him up, so sleeping in seemed like the perfect way to spend a Monday morning, except for ...

I wouldn't be getting back on my routine and it is important to me to have my personal alone time with the Lord. As I got up and around to fix hubs lunch I knew that if I went back to bed the chances were slim that I would get my devotional time in, so I chose to stay up and get back on my routine. YAY!! I'm so glad I did. I feel a refreshing from the Lord that is so needed this morning.

Now just a note on routine. I believe that sometimes our routines can trap us. Sometimes routines can equal comfort and comfort can equal complacency, so I am careful about the kind of routines I get into. But I have found that a routine that involves time spent with the Savior is never wasted time.

While it is true I have been off my routine this last week, I have been able to draw from times that I've spent with the Lord in my routine. That has been very important and eye opening to me. So I just want to encourage you to spend some time with the Lord today. Get alone with Him and let yourself be quiet before Him. Start a routine in your life of doing this very thing, and God will bless you for it.

So this weekend we had lil Scoot. And of course, he did not disappoint. He is 7 months and getting more mobile every time we see him. He is just starting to crawl and it is the cutest thing. He is also getting into mischief at every turn. Also the cutest thing =)

I came into the living room on Saturday where he was suppose to be playing in his walker on the OTHER side of the room. Did I mention how mobile he's getting? He had made it to the OTHER side of the room from where he was suppose to be and was in the business of clearing off my bench that houses pictures of him and his momma and daddy and glass pretty with Easter grass in it (got to it just in time). So I decided rather than fight him, I'd join him. So I finished clearing it off and replaced pictures and pretties with toys and he LOVED it. That is where he spent a lot of his time playing. He loved banging his rattles on that bench. So funny.

Well I have pictures of another one of Sky's antics this weekend. He was playing in the floor with his favorite Uncle Dak on a blanket. All was fine, and then he found the tag, which he does often, but this time when he found the tag he started rolling. Dak hollered into me and said I needed to get a look at this. So in I came and grabbed the camera and this is what I found . . .

lil Scoot in a blanket...(pigs in a blanket...get it?)
anyway...

And then lil Scoot existing blanket. This child cracks me up!!! He is so much fun!!

Oh yes and this is another child that cracks me up....
Dak had to do a duet play in Theater class this week about hair.
No I am not kidding and that is not a type-O...yes hair.
(Megan is so diggin' that Dak had to do a play on hair. How happy are you girl? anyway... =)

So he spent extra time taming the mane, and can I just say the child certainly has a mane!!!
He has the thickest hair. So here he is ready to walk out the door...
mane ready....

And then I made him turn and look straight on at the camera. He thinks this picture has no personality. Well I proceeded to tell him in no uncertain terms...... that I love him and would he PLEASE take a normal pic just for dear ole mom?!! (Yeah, I am one tough customer =)
So he did.
How cute is he? I mean seriously!!!

The weather here has been so warm, windy but warm, the last several days...so nice. But today it is suppose to storm...boo.
Well we are preparing this week to go back to Mayo next week. We leave next Monday and my appts are on Tuesday. I'll post our itinerary later in the week.
Have a Blessed day,
PS I am tweaking my design for spring, so you will probably see several before I land on one. Let me know what you think along the way.

So Much Stuff Week . . .

This week has been chocked full...full. Monday, I can't even remember anymore, Tuesday we found out the very sad news, and Sky's mama was sick and me and Sky have been hanging out...now he is back home...sniff. Today is PT (which I have missed the last two...ahem) and my mom called and is running a fever, so after PT I'll be running I wish, driving her to the doc to see what in the world is up. My mom, with all of her health issues DOES NOT NEED A FEVER!!!!!

Now in the midst, I have a MOUNTAIN of laundry (well it would be a mountain if I had it all together, but no it is in bathrooms and baskets and floors etc.) ughhh!!! And my kitchen needs a cleaning and I, well I need Calgon (remember those commercials?)

I want to take this moment to thank all of you for praying this week. I feel frazzled and hazzled and graying by the minute, but in the midst of it all God has shown up in the most lovely of ways. For example, last night hubs and I were driving back from the dropping off Sky, and we hit MAJOR HUGE construction traffic. Major. huge. did I say HUGE?!! anyway. . .

Well, if there is one thing the hubs doesn't like its traffic and if there is 2 somethings the hubs doesn't like, it is traffic with construction thrown in....double ughhh. So lets just say he was defensive driving, well I'd had enough of the defensiveness in his driving and I have a mini-breakdown, tears and all. He is sitting there telling me its okay and to calm down and not to be so scared it was fine (which it was, but all you ladies out there know,,, oh you know =) anyway... so in the midst of my crying and sniffling I told him "I'm just tired," and then "I'm so sad and tired" really I just felt overwhelmed and the tears felt needed.

Well in true wonderful husband fashion, he taps me on the arm and as I look over at him he says "Boo"!!!!! I smiled and then we laughed and he laid his hand on mine. It was precious and I believe a God ordained moment in the middle of the craziness that has been this week. It was priceless. I. love. my. man!!

Well I'm off to try and tame the lockes and powder the face and then get out the door.

Have a GREAT day in the Lord,

Knowing in Part . . .

These past couple of days have been filled with joy and sorrow. It's an odd mix, joy and sorrow. Do they belong together?

I ended up going to Sky's docs appt yesterday, his mama was soooo sick. So I took him in and got his check-up and shots and she went home to sleep. Poor thing was really sick.

After our appt, I took him home with me, and he is with me today so mama can recover. She thinks it was food poisoning, but she is feeling much better this morning.

When I received the news about Cassie yesterday I was playing with Sky and my mom was here and there was so much joy in our home.

This may seem weird to some of you, but it was actually the first time mom got to meet Sky in person. Before you go all, "you are a terrible daughter" on me =) mom has a suppressed immune system and I just couldn't bring myself to take him over on the off chance that some little sweet thang at his daycare had given him something that hadn't showed up yet. Did you get any of that?

anyway....
my door bell rang and it was my sweet mother in a pink cowboy hat (no I'm not making this up) it was so cute... and priceless, because she walks in and there is lil scoot in all his little scootness and my mother just beamed. It was a beautiful moment. One that's tucked away, you know in that special heart chamber.

anyway...
Then when I heard the news my heart was so sad and full of sorrow for this dear sweet family. It was such a mix of joy and sorrow.

Well, as I was driving down the road this morning, God reminded me of my Scripture memory verse for the next two weeks. It is:

I Corinthians 13:12 (NIV) "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known."

I am only seeing a poor reflection, but sweet Cassie is seeing face to face. I only know in part right now, but she fully knows as she is fully known. This verse has become reality in front of her very eyes. She is in no more pain and she is with Jesus the Author and Perfecter of her faith (last two weeks verse).

God has been weaving a beautiful pattern through Scripture memorization for me, and also leading me to make the Faithbook Prayer Scrapbook. (I'll try to get some more pics up soon.) God is doing such a work in me. He is teaching me so much about trusting Him through EVERY moment and He is preparing me in ways I don't understand at the time.

Cassie was so young, just 24. It's hard. But God is so God and He will remain God in the days ahead. I'm so thankful to have known this wonderful young lady and her family.

Well, I must go in and check on lil Scoot. He is sleeping, beautifully, I might add. Is there anymore precious or joyful a thing than a sleeping baby?

Believing Him,

Great Loss

I just received news this afternoon that my friend Cassie passed away. My heart is so sad for us here who grieve her loss, but I know that she is with Jesus right now, and is in no more pain and has never been happier!!! Nothing compares to the glory she is in right now, nothing.

We will miss her sweet smile and her incredible style. Most of all, just her. She was one of the kindest people. Please remember her parents, sister and all of her family and friends that loved her so much. Thank you for praying.

Father,
You are God alone, and in my sorrow I don't understand, but in my Spirit I know she is with you and she is whole. You are awesome God and I praise You. Thank you for allowing me to have known this sweetheart of a girl. And thank you that our lives touched in such a special way here on this earth. I love you Father. Please comfort her dear parents in her loss.
Thank you Jesus, Amen

Tag Your It =)

Okay so this title should read "Tag I'm It =)" I am such a dork. I realized as I hit post that I'd put "Your" and I'm not tagging anyone. Uhhh okay . . . anyway . . .

Well, I got tagged by Rebecca Jo, one of the sweetest blog buddies I know. If you haven't visited this knittin', Belle-lovin' Queen, you should, you really should. She loves God and lives it out loud!!! I love that about her. She is not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.

So she said go to my 6th picture folder and post my 6th pic.

So here goes . . . .

drum roll please . . . .

Remember Dak on tie day? Well this is a pic that didn't make the blog cut, but here it is. You can run son, but you can't hide =) He is such a cutie!!!

Oh and you were right RJ, either Dak or Scoot, you knew, it had to be one or the other =)

Speaking of Scoot, C called Dick and wanted to know if I could go to Scoot's doc's appt today. His mama is sick and he has to work, so they want me to go along and help out. Are you kidding me? I am soooooo there!!!!!

Hope ya'll have a rockin' good day full of the Lord's blessings,

The Car, The Babe and me a winner?!!

So I told ya last week that our car broke down, well the news is not good. It is going to cost $2,000.00 to fix at the shop!! Are you kidding me? So hubs has it in the garage and is working on it. This would not be such a big deal, but my follow-up appt at Mayo is 2-weeks from tomorrow, which means we will be leaving 2-weeks from today. But my family is so great, they have been offering their vehicles or help in getting a car rental etc., so it will all work out, it has just been a source of stress for me the last few days. I do not like car problems, but I'm so thankful we have a car. Hubs has an old pick-up he drives to work, and Dak's car is now our car again. I feel badly to have to take it back right now, but he is being really good about it. He actually hasn't complained at all. He just said it was a bummer. What a sweetie we have there.

Well, G-babe came to visit this weekend and if he is not the cutest darn thing in a diaper!!
Okay, see for yourself =)

See told ya he was adorable. Not convinced?

Well check him out in his Old Navy beenie.

I know. He. is. drop. down. pick. up. the. bib. A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!!

And here he is hamming it up. I wonder where he gets that from (Dak=)?

And here are two of my fav guys in the whole world (it would be my 3 fav's if Dak had stuck his head in). How cute are these two? Baby you make my heart go pitter-patter (you to Sky =)

When I checked my e-mail this morning, I got an e-mail from one of my favorite blog people in the whole wide web -- Emilie. If you have not visited, you must leave right now and visit her, (tell her I said hi) go on and then come back, because I won something from her daughter . . .

Okay so glad your back, is she not the GREATEST!!!??!! I heart you Em. So she e-mailed me this morning to tell me I'd won a blog button designed by Faith (her daughter). YAY!!!!! I'd signed up on Denise's site last week. YAY!!! I like to win stuff. So soon I will have my very own blog button. How GREAT!!

Hiding It in My Heart!!!

Well, it is March 1, my daddy's 70th birthday - Happy Birthday Dad - and Scripture Memory Team verse day. If you want to know more about this, please go here.

So my verse last time was Hebrews 12:1-3:

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run, with perseverance, the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith. Who for the joy sat before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider Him, who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

YAY!!! I love memorizing Scripture. I got all of this one, except the Therefore. I don't know why, but typing my MV sometimes throws me off. Crazy I know. anyway. . .

So I had said in an earlier post that Isaiah 61:10-11 would probably be my next MV, well the Lord really laid it on my heart to memorize it at that time, since I had Hebrews memorized, so I did.

"I delight greatly in the LORD, my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up, and a garden causes seed to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all the nations." (okay so I got most of that right, I had to go back and tweek it just a little, but this is one I will keep working on, until I have it clean!!)

Again, I heart Scripture. Hiding God's Word in my heart has been life changing to me, and I'm sure I'm not even completely aware of all the ways that it helps me, because I will literally start saying back all of my MV from the year when I'm driving in the car or around the house. Those are times when all kinds of thoughts could come in there, but instead of letting them, I am reciting Scripture and thinking about how God has spoke to me through that particular passage and so forth. It is so transforming.

So what is my MV for the next two weeks you ask?!! Well I will continue working on the Isaiah passage and I will be working on this one as well:

I Corinthians 13:12 (NIV) "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known."

Part of me just totally digs that I am only seeing things from a poor reflection. I'm only seeing part. So what does that mean? It means there is more to see!!! Oh Hallelujah!! This is not all there is and the things that we do see here we are only seeing in part. How much hope does that give us? This is not all there is child. There is so much more. And what we see here we are only seeing in part. God has a plan, so what this passage really screams to me is TRUST!!!!! There is more to see and more to know, but we will only know in part here.

I so look forward to this part of my month, so I can see what God is laying on others' hearts concerning their MV.

Have a Blessed week,
