Some Fun Stuff Going On ~~

WOW!!  We have had so many fun things going on the last few days.

I wanted to get this video up over the weekend, so I won't feel behind, but it didn't happen.

On Saturday, I got to spend the first half of my day with Dak and Alyssa.  It was SO much fun!!!

We had coffee at Hebrew's Coffee and did a little shopping and had lunch at McAlister's.

It was a fun day!!

Then Saturday afternoon my mom and Georgia came over and we BBQ'd and then our little town had fireworks, and we watched them right from our house.  So fun!!

Well, my knee is feeling so much better that today I cleaned out a closet and did a fun project for my table for 4th of July.  I will be showing you that soon too (hopefully tomorrow =)

Well for today, I wanted to share with you this video that I made about a fun and useful project to me. 
I made this book out of a scrap piece of cardboard for the base. 

WOW what a girl can do with cardboard =)

Not all of it is out of one piece of cardboard, but the main pages are and I added (and still adding) lots of fun pages and elements.

Random Friday ~~ The Divine Appoinment Edition

Hello my dear Blog Friends ~~

It is Friday so ya know what that means.....

RANDOM FRIDAY ~~ YAY!!!!! ~~

You know, sometimes, God gives you appointments just from Him.  Already, set-up & arranged in Heaven.  And then our job is to be obedient to that appointment.  We had one of those last night.

A couple months a go Dick hired a new guy at work.  He has talked alot about him and what a good worker he is, and just what an overall good guy he seems to be. 

Well, he was telling my husband that his oldest daughter (17) was born blind and she has a gift for music. 

Well, Dick told him that I play piano and little of the story behind that for me, and he was intrigued. 
He went home and told his daughter about me and she said, "Oh daddy, so you think she'd help me?"  How sweet is that?!!

So last night was the night.  I don't mind telling you that I was nervous.  You see, I have played piano my whole life and I'm most comfortable playing in a praise and worship situation, but when I am kind of put on the spot, I get so nervous.

Well they came in and immediately this sweet thing, shook our hands and went right to our piano.  She asked if she could play and then sat down and started playing.  I was blown away by her ability and talent.  God has truly gifted this young one.  They said that when she was about 2 years old she started rocking (that's part of the blindness) and so her daddy got her a keyboard, and for a solid year, she would play one note a day over and over and over.  And then one day they were at church and came home and she took off playing a song she heard and has never stopped.  She is truly a gifted muscian.

They asked me to play, so I sat down (still very nervous) and played a song for them.  You see a lot of times I will take a song and compose it differently than it was written.  I just hear music differently than most.  So that is what I'd done with "As the Deer".  She recognized it and then after she heard it her mom said, "Do you remember how Miss Dawn played "As the Deer"?  Play it like that."  It took her a minute, like she was recalling it and she started to play what I had played.  It was amazing!!!  It wasn't exact, but it was her version of mine and it was just beautiful!!  I was completely amazed.

Then Dick asked me to play a song I wrote several years ago, and so I did and then later played it again for them, and sure enough, this young one set off to playing it.  It was truly amazing!!! 

She also plays violin, and Dak was here and got out his violin and she tuned it up and started playing it.  She is SO good on the violin, and totally self-taught.  She couldn't figure out how to do vibrato on the violin, because you can't just show her to move her fingers a certain way, she had to feel it.  So she would put her fingers on Dak's and feel the way that he did it, and within minutes, literally minutes she was doing it. 

This young lady is such a talent, and I am really looking forward to spending more time with her and her family.  I prayed that God would use me to help her, but I told Him that I knew she would help me tremendously as well.  I already knew that before I met her.  It was a Divine Appointment!!!

The thing that struck me the most about this young lady is that she is not defined by her blindness.  Not.at.all. 

She LOVED Sir Cuteness (of course) and he was so intrigued by her.  It was so sweet.

She could hear whenever someone new came in and out and within minutes knew our voices.  It was amazing!!!

I hope this is the start of a long and beautiful friendship.....

So what in the world is Sir Cuteness so happy about right here?

 Yep, slippers on his feet in the middle of June =)

 I asked him what he was doing and he said, "I want to wear my slippers outside....."

Ummm..... okay.....  =)

 This boy makes me ALL shades of HAPPY!!!!!  =)

And can you believe he will be 3 the end of next month?!!

WOW!!

 And just thought I'd show you the finished product of my Breakfast Video yesterday.

Yes I know, it probably doesn't look appetizing to some of you,

but trust me, this is all kinds of yummy goodness for you.

It taste SO good and is just so stinkin' good for you ~~

Oh wait, it has changed again and is now more white than yellow.....

He came home and added more bleach, dye stuff to his hair a couple of nights ago to make it even MORE blond.

I am doing a Flip-Flop swap through the blog "Running Away?  I'll Help You Pack?"  (Don't you LOVE that title ~~ makes me LOL  =)  anyway.....

I saw a comment on RJ's blog a couple of weeks ago inviting her to come over to that blog and participate and being the good friend I am,  =)  decided I'd go over to.....ya know, don't want to make a friend go alone =)    and I'm so happy I did. 

I got my buddy info yesterday and she is from ALASKA!!!  I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to go to ALASKA!!  So I will live it vicariously though my Flip-Flop buddy =)   (at least for now).  So I'll be going to get some fun Flip-Flops for her. 

So fun!!!

Good Morning my beautiful blog readers.

I am really liking the Vlog thing.....since I'm limited on time right now.....

I can put these together of things I really want to blog about, but don't have time to sit down and write a post, add pics, edit and post. 

So this is a GREAT alternative to that right now, but I will be doing written posts with pics too...... 

So this morning I went out to the garden to water and spend a few mins out there and I saw my beautiful kale and decided that it is what I'd have for Breakfast.

So here I am with the kale and a yummy breakfast.....

Me and my knee ~~ The Video =)

Have I shared with y'all how much I am lovin' the new and improved, working with me, blogger?

It is making me smile right now.

Why? You ask?...  Well, because I went to download the video that I made for y'all yesterday and there it was.  Right in youtube, and I could go right to my account.  How cool is that?

So I made another video yesterday tell you all about my doc's appt, but it is so windy, I just have to laugh at myself.  That and the fact I'm still learning angles.  But anyway, it was fun to do and I hope you can hear it alright with all the wind.

I mean it was SERIOUSLY windy yesterday. 

But anyway I hope you enjoy it ~~

And I know ~~ a lot to take in, but I TOTALLY have a plan, okay let me rephrase....

God TOTALLY has a plan and I'm following that One.  It is the ONLY ONE that makes ANY sense. 

I needed this appointment to really put this whole thing in perspective.

My plan?  Oh yeah.........

Weekend Fun ~~

WOW ~~ What a fun weekend we had around here!!

Since Blogger is now working better than ever, my pics are downloading in the order I load them in, so my pics are backwards, as far as time line, so let's start with yesterday and Father's Day.....

My S-I-L Barb has a little boy Christian. 

He is 8 months older than Sir Cuteness.

Are they sweet together.

They like being at PaPa Wesley's.

(I have more pics of this day on my other camera, but don't have time to upload them this morning, so we'll wait on those =)

 Saturday I went to my friend Jessie's Personal Shower, which was help at my FAVORITE coffee house, Hebrews Coffee.  Oh my.....SO Good!!!  (More about the shower in a min....)

Well when I got home, my man and I talked for a bit and then Chase and Sir Cuteness came home from a birthday party for one of SC's little friends and he was OUT.

So Chase laid him down, but I had my purse on the bed, because I'd just gotten home myself not too long before and when I went to check on Sir Cuteness, this is what I found.....

 When I first saw him I was so startled.  I thought he'd must have gotten into something at the party and was having a very bad reaction.....

Ummm........no.

When I asked Sir Cuteness what was wrong with his face, he said, "I'll show you." and proceeded to get into my purse and pull out my lipstick.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

And then when I went to get the wipes so PaPa could clean him up, the box had lipstick all over it from lipsticky fingers that had tried to clean it up himself.  Well at least he tried, right?  =)

HAHAHAHA-HEEHEEHEEHEE!!!!!

OH how this little makes me laugh the hard belly laugh out loud kind of laugh =)

 Then before all of that fun, I had this kind of fun.

My sweet and beautiful friend Jessie (the one in the gorgeous bright pink hat =) is getting married to Chase's stepbrother Josh, next Saturday.

Jessie and I go way back.  We went to church together for several years and she helped me in the class that I taught.  Such a sweetie.  I wish her EVERY happiness!!!

Her and her man are so sweet.  She is such a wonderful girl, with such a pure heart for the LORD!!  And he is a man after God's own heart.  What a couple!!

And the lady sitting next to her is Ashley, and she is getting married in Aug.  WOW lots of fun for these two this summer.  I'm so happy for them!!!!!

 Okay and let's back up just a little more ~~ this is the salad I had for lunch just before I went to the shower.  How yummy is this simple salad?!!

I LOVE summer food!!  Lots to love for this vegetarian girl =)

Well, there you have it.  Our fun weekend!!  We had lots of fun yesterday on Father's Day and enjoyed our time with Dick's family.

Random Friday ~~

I have been working on so much fun stuff in the scrapbook department.

I don't have a lot of pics taken yet of my current projects, but I will and I'll share some when I do.

But I wanted to share a few little things I haven't shared yet because of my on-again off-again now on-again relationship with blogger.  No, I'm not bitter.

 Okay, so this little beaut I got from my neighbor.

They travel a lot, so I watch their house and do little chores for them while they're gone,

and they always Bless me with the sweetest things.

Like this Alpaca Scarf.

Now I didn't realize that the alpaca's provided us scarfs and the like, so I consulted my knitting expert, RJ and apparently this is some cool stuff.

The only thing is, that it is a little rough, so I'm gonna try to launder it gently and see if I can soften it up, but isn't it lovely.  I love these colors.,,,,

There is nothing like the waking up to this little guy ~~ I love him so!!!!!

 And he is becoming quite the little photographer.

When I am painting on my pages and he is close, he will jump up and do a little painting,

oh he loves it!!!

If you have littles under your beautiful feet, grab a bottle of acrylic paint and a sponge brush, and a large piece of paper, oh yeah and some fingers and you have yourself the makings for some HUGE fun for all!!!!!

In case your wondering, he is WONDERFUL!!!  And so supportive of me.  He loves me like no other.

Duty or Delight and SSMT ~~ Let's Chat shall we?.........

As summer approached, I knew I wanted to start a Bible study and thought that I would do the Bible study through the LPM Blog, but they announced that they would not be doing one this summer because of their schedule and SSMT, but did list two studies that they might have done.

Well, I decided to do one of those studies on my own and since I had already read about Tammi Head's study, "Duty or Delight" I decided to do it.

And can I just say, I have no prior knowledge of the beautiful Tammie Head, but girls (and boys) this is one WONDERFUL - BEAUTIFUL - DEEP - DEEP - DEEP - HEART CHANGING STUDY!!!

If there is anything that will cause me to fall right into guilt and condemnation (and yes I know what Romans 8:1 says ~~ it is just one of those things that this girl's heart deals with ~~ the enemy knows where to strike, doesn't he?)  guilt over not spending enough time in the Word and prayer - missed opportunities to share about my Jesus - dealing with a teenager that is running - guilt, guilt, craziness and more guilt.   So in drops Tammie Head and this study, and did you catch the by-line?  "knowing where you stand with God"

That right there gets an AMEN from me!!!

I am just wrapping up week one and can I just say........okay wait a minute, let me just let you hear from Tammie:

"Spiritual performance can wear a person out.  Not even the best of us can stay "on" all the time.  The beautiful news is that God didn't save us so we would keep Him happy.  He saved us for soul-satisfying intimacy."

Can I get a serious AMEN?!!  I mean seriously!!  How many of us feel like we have to "perform" and then when we don't we feel guilty about our failed "PERFORMANCE"?  Oh my stars ~~ 

I am just in week one and already marking my book right on up.........this is a GREAT study!!  There are weekly Confidence Boosters in the form of Scripture and week one was "You are Chosen" with the Scripture being Ephesians 1:4 and since I have already memorized it as part of SSMT, I decided my SSMT for this time will be the verse for week 2. 

Which is the Confidence Booster "I am Redeemed".

I must tell you, that I'm just LOVIN' SSMT this year. 

Having Scripture permeate my daily life has been life changing for me.

I say my Scripture every night when I lay my head on my pillow.  It has been a wonderful time with the Lord all year!!!  I know every night, I will be going to bed with Scripture going through my heart and it has been so helpful to my daily walk with the LORD.  I love Him so!!!

My Scripture is:

Ephesians 1:7-8 

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding."

This Scripture is so moving to me and such a deep reminder of the redeeming power of Christ through God's grace.  It just touches me in a deep place. 

So will you join me and others in the pursuit to know God better through His Word.

I'd just love it if you would.

WOW ~~ Hi I'm Back ~~ Silly Blogger.....

So I have not posted in a week ~~ A WEEK!!!  Oh my.... that is a long time huh?  =)

Well, I took a video last Friday to post and couldn't get Blogger to post it and then I tried Vimeo and it wouldn't convert and finally decided to try youtube and finally got it to upload and then Blogger wouldn't let me post it. 

It.was.frustrating.

But I am back, with video in tow =)

This is a video of our garden this year.  Yes it is me behind this skinny video.  I took it with my "Pod" and I don't know how to get it to transfer over right onto youtube.  I've seen others be able to to it, but I am just not that youtube or video savvy for that matter.

But anyway.....

Here is a video of our garden and my knee at the very end.  Thought I'd just throw that in there too.

Next week I go to see a pain doctor.  We are going to try to get this girl under control.

"Remember who you are....."

Last Friday, I had an appointment at a lady's house to get Quickbooks loaded onto a laptop and then to take a quick course on using it. I know your probably thinking, "you don't know how to use Quickbooks?" I know, sad right? =)

Well, I have only worked on corporation software in my days of working outside the home, so now that I am working from home for a small business, I need to try my hand at Quickbooks.

So as I went to her house I flipped to a song on my "Pod" ... "Born Again" by Third Day and immediately as they started singing, God spoke this to my heart:
"Remember who you are....."

I wrote it down immediately and knew that I was about to get the opportunity to talk about my God.

So I went in this very beautiful home, and the lady was so nice and while she downloaded the software, she walked me through the parts that I would need to know.

When we were done, we got to talking. The subject of church "came up" and she asked me where I went, so I told her and asked her and she told me and you could tell she was then waiting for me to comment. Like where she went was a bad thing or something.

I actually have had very good experiences with her church, and have always regarded her church as very caring and such a loving environment.

And I got to share with her this story:

When my sweet Dak was about 10, back in the days where he got paid for good grades =) we went to a Fall Festival at this church. I love all things Fall Festival, and so does Dak, so we had headed out that day and found ourselves at this beautiful place. Well, Dak had gone to look at some goodies while I was at another table (I think) and he encountered a booth that had a beautiful pin.

He asked this sweet little old lady how much she wanted for the pin and she told him it was $18.00. Well, Dak looked sad and said, "oh my mom would just love this pin, but I only have $13.00. Thank you anyway..." and he started to walk away. The little old lady, I'm sure moved by this sweet 10 year old with his crew cut and glasses said, "hey little boy. It's $18 but today it is on sale for $13." To which, Dak smiled from EAR TO EAR and put down the LAST of his money to buy his mama this pin.....

It might have only cost him $13, but it is priceless to me.

When I told the lady this story she just smiled from ear to ear and started recalling some of the beautiful sweet little old ladies in her church. It was a sweet moment.

I am so happy that God gave me the opportunity to talk about how He moves and getting to recall such a sweet story.

I'm thankful that God reminded me to "remember who you are...."

Yesterday, I had another very important "remember who you are....." moment as well, and this particular incident would have been a diaster if I hadn't remembered those four words, "remember who you are....." I'm pretty sure this is a theme for me right now =)

Random Friday ~~ Lots of fun Edition ~~

Well, have we had a fun week, and it was all captured (well most of it =) in pictures!! I've gotten to where my camera or my "Pod" makes the trip just about every time I leave the house.

So let's begin with a little scrapbooking inspiration.

G and I were at a local nursery and found this beautiful color combo.....

Here is Sir Cuteness playing with the kitty that was at the nursery. (We know the guy who owns it).

He just loved this kitty.....until he got a little close.....

Then the kitty hissed and sent Sir Cuteness scrambling for the rock.....

But all was well and after that Sir Cuteness kept a healthy distance from said kitty.....

This picture is just the way things are right now with this knee. Notice how I am not putting hardly any weight on it. Just the way I roll right now.....

But it's okay........... I am finding Blessing in this thorn because I am choosing Christ with every step. It makes it all better. I am so thankful for Him.....

Okay, so this next set of pics (a lot of pics) are of our little excursion on Memorial Day.

My Mr. Winslow is working 6 - 7 days a week and worked on Memorial Day and so did Chase (Sir Cutenesses daddy), so since Dak didn't have to work, I called mom and asked if she'd like a day out. She was SO excited!!!

We had the best day!!

We went to McD's for lunch and then to the park and tennis courts and then to Cruisin' USA for ice cream. It was such a fun day.....
