Crush, Capture, Concur and other Random Ramblings on this Friday + an Update...

First let me start this post with a thank you to all that have been praying for Dak. He woke up this morning with his fever at 103.1, but it went down quickly after he took Ibuprofen. His current temp is 99.1 and he is feeling MUCH better. Prayerfully that will hold the rest of the day and he is on his way to recovery. It this is a virus, he should keep feeling better, if it is Mono this could just be a respite from the high fever and he'll relapse, hopefully it is the first.



Doc said if it was a virus that we'd all probably get it, and so far both D and I feel fine, so we'll see. Thank you all again for praying, and I'll post an update if need be.

I haven't updated my new memory verse yet, so let me start with my last one.



Psalm 55:22 "Cast your cares on the Lord, and He will sustain you. He will never let the righteous fall."



He has spoke to me through this scripture so much in the last two weeks. I love this one!!



Well, my next memory verse is one that has been coming up is various places over the last several days. Don't you just love it when God confirms in several different, unexpected ways?!! Yep, love that.



It is also a verse that goes right with the current study that I'm involved in "Me, Myself & Lies".



Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things."



How much do you love this verse?!!! God gives us all the blueprints in His Word for living a victorious life in Him.

MM&L study is really good. This study is all about our thought lives. One thing that I've just really loved about this study is Jennifer Rothschild has us do exercises that have really drawn me in, like the Thesaurus I wrote about a couple of weeks ago.


Well in my study yesterday, she talked about labels and she had us write 3 labels that we have put on ourselves that are untrue. Well I wrote my three and then she had us take the blackest marker we could find ~~ well hello Sharpie ~~ and draw demolition balls over them, totally blacking them out. This was the "Crush" part. She says this: "Take a mental picture of this, because I want you to see it the next time a lying-label starts to stick to you. Crush it, blot it out!"

The she had us write them again, and then this time draw prison bars on each one, to which she says this: "You hold those lies captive because they've broken God's law.....keep that lie imprisoned. Next time you feel it start to squirm, next time it bangs on the prison bars, remind your Enemy that he has no freedom to label you any longer." That is the "Capture" part.

Then the "Concur" part, we were to "Concur" with the truth, and in order to do this she had us read several, like 22 to be exact, verses and she had us stick a truthful label over the lie. It was so GREAT!! I marked every one, but I circled two that really spoke to me. Two that I will be sticking on those lying labels.

1. "I am valuable to God." This one REALLY spoke to me. For much of my life I never really felt valuable to anyone, let along God. I used to be a very insecure person. This one really put a soothing salve on my heart. The Scripture she used was I Corinthians 6:20a: "you were bought at a price."

2. "I am God's delight." It is really something to think that I am a delight to God. The verse she used is Zeph. 3:17: "The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."

Don't you just love those verses?!! This study is really making me look inside myself at how I talk to myself and what I think. If you haven't checked this study out, you should, you really should.

Well, I'm off to get supper on the table. Hubs is on his way.
