Home Sweet Home . . . and our Itinerary

It is always so sweet to come home after a few days away. I love home. It is the place where we lay our head and put up our feet . . . it is the place we laugh and cry . . . the place we love and are loved . . . the place where are hearts turn. And how great to know that as great as our earthly homes are, they pale in comparison to our heavenly ones. That is where our hearts should truly be turned.

Thank you so much for the e-mails and sweet comments, they've meant more than you know. I wanted to let you know our itinerary. The surgery is set for Tuesday, November 11th (no time yet). So we will leave here on Sunday the 9th and have two pre-op appts on Monday the 10th and then surgery the 11th. I will probably be in the hospital until Friday (could get out Thursday) either way we plan on traveling back on Saturday the 15th and it may take us 2 days to get back just depending on how the knee is holding up; it takes us about 9.5 hours to get back.

Until then I am on a strict exercise regime. I need to get my leg out straighter. The doc said that I will not gain anymore range of motion after the surgery, in fact, could lose a couple of degrees, so we are working hard on getting this baby straight. But let me just be honest here, it hurts people. Every time I do the strength part of the quad exercises (which is simply pushing my knee into the floor) OUCH!!! it pushes the arthritis into my knee more; not fun. But it is pain with a purpose. You don't get a rose without the thorn kind of thing. So I'm going for the rose here.
(This is one of our roses from a couple of years ago ~~ not that pretty this year)!!

Well it is 9:00 am here, so I gotta run. Training starts at 9:00 am for me. I'll try to post a little more later today.

Love, Dawn
