When you get the answer . . .

So why do we pray? There are a lot of reasons wrapped up in the answer to this question. We pray when we are in need, when we are happy, when we are distraught . . . we pray. But what is the purpose of prayer? To get to know our Father. He desires a relationship with us, and through prayer that relationship is cultivated. How much do you love the Father for that?!!!! He is so AWESOME!!!!!

As most of you know I am using this devotional during my prayer time, and it is wonderful!!

As you can see from these next two pictures, it is in dire need of some book tape.

Yes it is falling apart. But that doesn't bother me, it just means it's used right? Yes that is correct!! =)

I am going to be in need of a new devotional in less than a month though, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. I am in the market for one -- so-to-speak =)
If you've done one recently or even not so recently and it really touched you and brought you closer to God I'd love to hear about it, so I can check it out . . . thanks.
Now check out what is in the back of this devotional . . .

Now I know that you can not tell what this is, but it has become one of my set of favorite pages in the book, because it is a reflection of my heavenly Father's love -- it is the answer part of this devotional. Yes when I started this devotional, I didn't even realize it had an answer section. When I discovered this, I thought, "okay I'm going to go back and see if prayers have been answered." Do you know what I discovered? Practically everyday that I have written in this book a prayer from that day of intercession has been answered. I am not kidding. It is AMAZING!!!!!
When I started doing this I was so amazed. God is so good and He wants us to taste and see that -- OH YES HE DOES!!!!! And He answers prayers. Many of your names are in this book and in this answered prayers section. Just a couple of examples: Faith and Chad have found a new church home. God lead them to the one He wants them at. How GREAT!! Baby Harper is home!!!!! PTL!!!!! And so many others. I'm praying for lost loved ones and for women who are waiting on a child from the Lord and so many other issues. God is so good!!! I can't say it enough!! I.can.not. He is good!!!!!

So lift those needs to the Lord and watch Him move on your behalf. Because He will child, He so will. Not all the answers have come like I expected, but He keeps reminding Him that what He has for us His children, is so much better than what we could want for ourselves. Thank you Father. His ways are not our ways. Can I get an Amen?!! =)
Well, I'm off to PT and doc's appointments with my mom. And then tonight is "The Showboat Clever Belle" I cannot wait to show ya'll some pics and tell you of our night. Dak is going to rock I tell ya -- totally rock!!!!!
PS Yes I am tweeking the look again. Since I've learned how, the creative juices are just flowing like a river let me tell ya =)

  1. How awesome is the connection God gives us in Prayer... Connection to Him & connection to each other - that we CAN intercede for each other with God being in the center of that... Its an amazing power that we have when we pray!!! Power that God gives to us - if only we use it!

Love all the answered prayers... I just started my own prayer journal to mark down the things to stay on top of & more importantly, to mark down how they were answered... exciting to see God work!!!

And I want to thank you for the prayers you have personally lifted up for me... that is truly a special thing that I am honored to receive!

  3. I love prayer journaling and you're right that the best part is going back and seeing how God truly and lovingly did answer each and every one of your prayers!! There's just nothing like staring at your requests in your own handwriting and then knowing how God has worked things out for you - sometimes that's when He is the most real to me. I'm so glad you've experienced it too!!

  5. Oh sweet Dawn, this just brought tears to my eyes. I am so thankful for your prayers and yes, God did answer our prayers with an awesome church home. I am humbled that you intercede for us.

That devotion sounds so good. I love anything from Beth. I've done two of her 90 day studies, the one on Jesus and the one on John. They are both awesome!

I am praying for you too, Dawn!!

  6. What a precious post, Dawn. Thank you so much for praying for Faith and Chad in their search for a new church home. God has definitely answered their prayers. Walt and I are currently praying about that same decision.

I know that you have been praying for me (and Walt) and I cannot tell you how much that means to me.

Thanks for recommending this book. I will definitely be checking that out!

Love you, sweet friend, and I am praying for you, too!
