Expectantly Waiting.

Have you ever been in a season of waiting on God, and through it all you fretted or worried or feared? I certainly have. Right now in this season of our lives, we are waiting on God for something huge and trusting Him for it. We are in the early stages of this waiting, so that is why what He showed be last night was so wonderful!!!

He told me to wait expecting Him to do something. WOW!! Yes Lord speak. He showed me how expecting Him to do something in this waiting period would spur on my faith and belief. Wait....knowing He will gives new meaning to the term "Great Expectations!!!"

Many times I have waited for God to do something and been wringing my hands or spent way to much time NOT understanding. Our Pastor Wednesday night said that some things we will never understand. We don't need to spend our time on the not understanding, but instead focus our attention on the only One who can change it. Can I get an Amen?!!

I wish I could say that I was ready for this season, but I cannot say that. But what I can say, is that God has been preparing me for this time. He knew what was coming and none of it is a surprise to Him. So I rest in knowing that God is good all the time and all the time God is good and He has my hand in His and so we walk on through this trial.

I am just loving The Message Bible right now. It is like suave to this hurting heart. I read this morning out of Psalm 27:

"I'm asking GOD for one thing, only one thing: To live with Him in His house my whole life long. I'll contemplate His beauty; I'll study at His feet. That's the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world ... I'm sure now I'll see God's goodness in the exuberant earth. Stay with GOD! Take heart. Don't quit. I'll say it again: Stay with God."

So we walk on expecting from God. He will deliver!!

I wanted to give you a knee update. I've had several inquire of the old girl, so thought I'd just update ya =) It is actually doing alright. I'm back in PT, and they will probably be ordering the turnbuckle brace at the end of next week I'd say. It is not swelling as bad, but I have noticed an interesting limp. Of course I try to not limp and that just complicates matters, because then I'm thinking to hard....ya know what I mean? anyway......... I will limp right on =)

Dak is singing his solo's at the SWCL Music Contest tomorrow. He has a beautiful voice and tries so hard. I love to hear him sing. The songs that the teacher picked out for him this year are both in English which is a plus, but they are REALLY challenging rhythmically and dynamically, but he is doing great!!! He sang them for me last night....ahh the voice of my child to my ears =) Anyway can't wait to hear him tomorrow!!

I hope you all have a Beautifully Blessed weekend!!

  1. Dawn - I will continue to pray for your knee and for this time you are going through as well.

Tell Dak to 'break a leg'!!

    Love you friend,

  2. When God leads me into season that I just can't understand I cling to the following verse:

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Good Luck to Dak and your knee....

  3. I was listening to Lincoln Brewster this morning in the car and the song where the young girl recites Isaiah 40 just touched my heart. I had to put verse 31 up on my white board in my kitchen as soon as I got home "..and those who trust in the Lord..." Blessings today!

  4. You are totally making me want to pull out my "Message" Bible now!!!

And try & snag some video of Dak singing!!! Are things still going well with his girlfriend? Havent heard much about them lately.

  5. Oh Dawn I loved this. I am SO in a period of waiting right now, not knowing what to expect from the Lord. It is so hard at times but I know that it is challening me and causing me to grow.
    Love this verse!

  6. we'll def being praying for you and your knee! hope all gets well!

    go dak!!!

    have a wonderful weekend!!

  7. To be honest, I have the feeling lots of people are going through times similar to yours, right now. These are unusual and difficult times for MANY. Currently, we (and many from our town... and state... and country) are living in a time where we're just not sure what the future holds and it's a bit unnerving. I'll be praying for you as you wait - expectingly.

Dak is quite gifted, isn't he?

  8. Oh, friend. I love you and your sweet heart, and I love how God seems to have us in similar places so much of the time! I "wrestle with God" all the time about how I did not wait "expectantly" for this miracle baby that He has given me. I was such a spoiled brat...just waiting with despair and hopelessness so much of the time. I wish I had been more "expectant" and more like you talked about in this post. The good news is--I am HIS and am forgiven and He is so gracious and merciful. I am praying for you in your waiting. Thanks for encouraging me!

  9. Amen on your post! I couldn't agree more. Refreshing.

  10. Oh girl, you know I can relate on the waiting. Thank you for sharing your heart and those verses from the Message. Those are some of my favorite verses, but I'd never read them in that version.

I hope y'all are having a great weekend!
