Letting Pain Tutor the Soul....

In the book I am reading, "Strong Women soft hearts"..... yes I am still reading it. I know I am slow. Sure not gifted like Kat to be able to read two or three books in a day. Yes you read that right. girlfriend is talented. Rock right on Kat!!! =)

Here is a quote I am mulling over:

"If you want to know real joy in life, then be willing to let pain tutor your soul."

Wow!!! How well do I know this sentence. I am living through one of the most painful moments of the heart right now, and yet I know that God has not left my side for a moment, nor will He. Yesterday we were talking, me and God, yep just hanging out. I do that with God, because He wants that kind of a relationship with us, where we can just hang out and tell Him what's up with us. Although He already knows, He wants us to share with Him. I love that about Father God.

Anyway.... we were hanging out and I was thanking Him for Joy upon Joy that He is giving me in this most difficult time. I am so thankful that I am not letting hurt and pain turn to bitterness and resentment. But this joy is coming out of immense pain. It was a little hard to explain until I read this sentence. Yep my soul is being tutored by pain, and it is a beautiful thing. I could let the pain lead to bad things, but God is making sure that it cultivates in me a heart to deeper serve and know my Lord. That is what I want.

Out of the depths of pain, I want this flower to bloom where it's planted. Right where God has me. I have decided that I don't want to wait until I'm out of this season to look back and just be glad it's over. Nope, I want to thrive and flourish right here in the thorns, just like a rose bush does. That is my desire. You see I may be in this season a while. It is proving to be a long haul, but I am holding on to that which has a hold of me, Jesus Christ. And I am NOT letting go!!!

So if you are in a difficult season right now, instead of fighting against the pain so, let it tutor your soul through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Thanks so much for all the sweet comments on the garden post yesterday. I love our garden so much. I love to watch the beauty of God flourish in the garden. It is a beautiful thing!!! And I'm learning so much about what works and what doesn't. One day maybe I'll be able to help a new gardener find her way =)

Love you ~~ Have a Blessed day,

  1. Beautifull said, as always...

We dont grow without trials... our hearts can love more without a little ache too...

  2. I'm learning the same things at the moment. Trying to learn to let God work in the difficult moments and wait for the beauty in the plan He has.

  5. Dawn,

Life has been so hectic that I'm not sure what pain or trials you are going through. But I know God does, and I am blessed to hear how you are walking in it~ hand in hand with Father God while hanging out with Him! It's the best place to be. I need to remember the quote you wrote about, too. It's a great one.

P.S. Yes, Kat is amazing with the 2 - 3 book read a day. What?! I'm slow like you. lol
