Update and a Prayer Request

Okay, so I have not been very good to keep my blog updated since surgery. I'm hoping that starting next week, I will be able to get back to more regular blogging. I'm starting to visit more blogs again and feeling a little more like myself. That's a good thing.

I wanted to update you on the 'ol knee. I have my third out-patient PT today, and it is with a Lymphedema Specialist. She is going to fit me for a compression sock. Doesn't that sound lovely? It's suppose to help with the swelling, although the swelling is better, this should keep it down even more.

PT is actually going really well. I was within 5 degrees of being straight, not sure what my flexion is at right now, but on Tuesday it was 93 degrees. That is SO great!!! It took so long to get my right knee past 30 degrees, so 93 degrees at just 3 weeks out is so wonderful!!

I am having a problem though, and I wanted to ask you to pray with me over this. Every afternoon, I am still having a low-grade fever. Last night it was 99.8. They start every afternoon about 4 or 5 PM and stay until I take my bed time pain meds and then my fever breaks in the night and I wake up all sweaty. I know, yucky. But it is happening every day, so I'd really like this to get under control.

My doc doesn't think this is anything going on with the knee, so he wanted me to contact my Primary Care Physician, and so I have an appt with her on Monday afternoon. My Orthopaedic doc thinks I may have a UTI going on, even though I am having no symptoms. Dick and I have been talking about it, and it could be that the pain meds I'm on are keeping my symptoms back. We aren't really sure what's going on, but would really apprectiate your prayers that these low-grade fevers would stop and I'd start feeling much better in the afternoon and evenings.

I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend filled with family, fun and football. What about you?

Romans 5:8 (New International Version)

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  1. I wonder if the strain of the therapy is making you get a fever? Stressing your body somehow? It is probably best if you check with your regular doctor to just make sure you're not getting some of the nasty cold/flu season stuff going around. Always best to be ahead of the game!

Compression socks - UGH - I remember trying to get them off & on... so tight... but it'll be nice with cool weather coming in. :)

Definitely will add the fever to the list to pray for you friend!
    Love you!!! HUGS!
