Firsts

Today is my little grandson's first day of First Grade.
He was so cute and excited!

But he didn't start getting excited until yesterday.
Up until then,
whenever asked if he was ready for school
(and why do some people start asking in July?)  =)
he would ALWAYS say NO and not want to talk about it.
He was in denial (haha)

But yesterday I could tell something
was just different.
He was starting to get motivated to think about school
and he was starting to get happy
about his new teacher
(who is a first-time teacher and a cutie pie),
one of his best friends is in his class again this year,
and he has new shoes =)
I mean c'mon!
Yes, now the excitement started!

But give it a few weeks,
and he will not be so excited anymore.
It will be a chore to get up,
and he will have homework this year.
Yeah, there's that.
So it will change,
but we will take the excitement and roll with it!

This little first day story is much like the Daniel
Fast in many ways.
We are excited to get started,
prepared,
ready to go.
But now it is day four,
and for me,
around day three or four
is the hardest.
Let me encourage you to
stay the course.
Drink LOTS of water and pray.
LOTS of prayer.
God is listening and He loves you so!!
"Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness
and ALL these things will be added unto you."
Matthew 6:33
Seek God FIRST and HIS righteousness
and He will take care of the rest.

And if this is your first Daniel Fast,
you are doing GREAT!!!
Stay right in there.
He loves you and is going before you.

And just in case you need a little encouragement
from me and this darling First Grader.....

Have a SUPER day!!
Blessings ~~ dawn

  1. ahhh - excitement wears off, doesn't it? But you'll get it back again. Especially when you start feeling better.

I cant believe the little guy is in 1st grade!
