Today's Your Birthday . . . So Happy Birthday!!

Day #9 Pic of the 25 Days of CHRISTmas!!
I featured over the weekend, the centerpiece that I made using the basket I switched out from our fall arrangement. I had made the greenery centerpiece that was inside the basket several years ago and it's one of my fav's. A little closer to CHRISTmas I will be switching baskets and love the look it gives it . . . but more on that later.

So the above picture is another one of my fav's. Two CHRISTmases ago I was thinking about what I could make for that year (I try to make something original every year or repurpose something every year -- just the way I roll -- funny saying =) anyway, I got to looking at an old stocking that I had and wasn't using (you know the red felt kind) and thought I could repurpose it. And this is what I came up with. I love very pliable evergreen garland, and I had some so I started wrapping and then after that was done decided it needed a little more punch, so I hot glued on some snowcapped pinecones and a sweet reindeer ornament I had and then put Dak's old boat in the top and voila!! I really like the way it turned out, so it gets to "hang around" here and there each CHRISTmas. And by the way, that is a GREAT tip to mixing up your CHRISTmas decorations at your house so it doesn't look the same every year. Put your tree a different place or put your CHRISTmas arrangements in another location or slap 'em in a basket, whatever works for you. Have fun with your decorations. You and your family will enjoy the little extra effort you put in trying to "mix it up".

Okay so this wasn't suppose to be a "how to" post. This is actually a:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LOVELY HUSBAND POST!!!!!

So let me just share a few of the wonderful things I dig about my husband that may be a little out of the ordinary.

For those of you who do not know my man personally, you must know that he is a quiet one. He doesn't say much, but as my mom has put it, "when he does talk you listen."

So a lot of times the quiet ones get marked with the label "no sense of humor". Boy that label does NOT fit my man. He is one of the funniest people I know. He makes me laugh daily. He is truly a joy to be around. One of the first times I remember laughing was when we was sitting at his house and he came out in his big, huge puppy dog slippers. To see someone I thought was so serious come out in these, I knew he was something special.

He has the MOST amazing blue eyes. Dark hair and blue eyes ~~ just stop it!!! Melted this girls heart.

And speaking of heart, he has the biggest heart of anyone I know. He shares with people in need and his heart just breaks for children who do not have parents to love them. When he sees pictures of the children in third world countries who do not have, his heart just breaks. I love this side of him so much. He cares so much. He has the biggest heart.

He takes such good care of his family. He has had to work two jobs at a time sometimes, he's worked seven days a week, he's worked jobs he hasn't wanted to, he's worked at home and he's worked outside of the home. But at the end of the day, he comes home to us. . . his adoring family and yes we are crazy about you honey!!!!!

He takes very good care of himself. He works out and eats well and I love this. He is so handsome ~~ not a clue how I got this one, but so glad God gave him a heart to love me. Because when he fell in love with me, I was very unlovable (just keeping it real). He took this broken hearted girl and gave her wings. I love you baby!!

I could go on and on, but I'll just give you one more fact. HE LOVES GOD!!!!! He knows so much about the Word and he truly is a Biblical husband. He loves me as Christ loves the church. And yes I submit to this man. It truly is a priviledge. I know that is not popular in our culture, but I'm not interested in being popular in our culture, I'm interested in pleasing my Savior and in the area of being submissive to my husband, honey you make it easy.

So happy birthday you sweet thang!!! Thank you for sharing your life with me and for allowing me to share mine with you, the good, the bad, and the knee. It's not always pretty with a knee like this one, but I love you from the heart and look forward to everyday we get to spend together.

Dawn

PS Some of you have been asking about my knee and I will be doing an update on that tomorrow.
