Moving Toward the Light

Here is what my tulips were hanging out doing this morning when the sun came up. They were moving towards the light. Now I do have a stubborn tulip who is moving the other direction.

And this got me to thinking........

Which one am I like? Am I moving towards the Light or I am being stubborn staying where I am or heaven forbid going the other direction, like this one stubborn tulip? Please let me keep going towards the Light.

And going towards the Light led me to my next memory verse for the LPM verse for the 15th of the month.

James 1:17-18 "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all He created."

How much do you love these verses? These are some of my favorites. Aren't you so glad that God doesn't change like the shifting shadows? I am so thankful for that. He never changes!!! And how much do you love that God chose to give us birth through the Word of Truth? I love it, LOVE IT!! He didn't have to, but He chose to ~~ so AWESOME!!! Thank you Lord!!

Well, I wanted to also let you in on a little something I've been up to lately. The knee has had better days, so this is causing me to rethink some activities right now. Apparently no mushroom hunting for me this year and that was a goal I really wanted to accomplish, but alas it is mushroom hunting season and we have our keesters (isn't that a funny word? =) parked at home. So I will be working towards being able to hunting those illusive mushrooms next year. Those mushrooms won't stand a chance =)

So since I am rethinking my activities, another activity that I love is back into the forefront for me: scrapbooking, both digital projects like this blog and paper projects like my Faithbook that I just love so much.

And I have a favorite scrapbook store that is in the same town that the kids (Chase, Tonya, and Scoot) live in, which is about 30 mins from here. Well I went in the other day and they gave me a little piece of paper with a web address on it for their blog and I was sooooooo excited, because ya'll know I do love me some blogs. So I checked it out and noticed that they used just a plain template.

Well that got me to thinking. I so enjoy designing my own blog, that maybe I could help them out as well. So I went in yesterday and talked to them, but had to leave my name and number for the owner since she makes those decisions.

But my idea was this. Instead of charging moola (money =) for the blog makeover I could barter. How cool is that? Scrapbook supplies for a new blog design. I thought it was a GREAT idea. Now please keep in mind that I am an amateur, so I am in NO way trying to take any business from a real designer like the incredible Faith, who might I just say is amazing and if you want a real design complete with buttons and tags, please visit her, she is GREAT!!!!

I just thought if some of ya'll would like a new fun blog design and would like to barter, say like if you knit and would like to trade a scarf for a design =) how much fun would that be? Or if you would like to trade fitness secrets for a blog design, or a floral arrangement for a blog design, I will barter people, or if you are just extremely cute and adorable (which you all are) and have nothing to trade, you know I will barter a smile. I am just cool like that =)

So there you have it. Just some fun things I'm working on, as I move toward the Light of my Savior every day.

Love ya,

WOW... what an lesson with your tulips. I noticed mine outside last night how tightly they close up at night - like they dont want anything that isnt sunlight to get them... what an analogy there too!!!
