A Tour of Our Outdoor Home ~~ Our Garden ~~
Now I am quite sure that my pictures are humbly bumbly (Dak's word since childhood when things are mixed-up ~~ don't you love it when kids come up with their own sayings and they stick? ~~ Yep he still says it today, and I know exactly what he's talking about ~~~ I love that!!) anyway...
Okay so I will just take the pics as blogger has chosen to give them, and this first one looks like I have NO idea how to do rows in my garden....oh so not true!! I know how, it's just the garden has a mind of its own.
See all those little plants everywhere? Yes those would be our rogue tomatoes. They are tomatoes we had last year (pics to come) and they had little baby tomatoes and laid them here, 100's of 'em. nice.
And here are our radishes. Would you look at that? We have already gone through one batch, this is our second. I didn't even know I liked radishes until we grew them last year. Everything taste better when it comes out of your very own garden ~~ God is so amazing!!! I just had to say that. When I see this garden and the changes that happen over night ~~ literally ~~ I am amazed!! God is good!!!
Last year the rabbits ate our beans (see pics below) and we only got a mess or two out of them and that was in the fall. Crazy Rabbits, beans are for people =)
I have purple basil coming up from seed and our garlic is starting to come up as well. YAY!!!
(These pics are about a week old, these plants are way bigger today, but I'm on a time crunch so I didn't go shoot more pics. my bad.....)
Okay, so I told you blogger was crazy, here are the early spring pics of the garden, just after getting our tomatoes in the ground.
Here is the rosemary my neighbor gives me to grow, and then she takes it back in the fall before frost and keeps working on it for bonsai's. How fun!!! She gets the stalky plant and I get the YUMMEE leaves ~~ yep, win win!!
Poor things....silly rabbits!!!
There will be more tours through the season, just to keep you updated on our progress.
This is only the second year for our garden.
We have changed it up a bit this year, and hope to learn and grow in the area of gardening from year to year!!! Love it!!
Have a Blessed weekend,
P.S. Guess who's coming to visit his GiGi this weekend?!! Oh, go on guess............. =)
MMMM... there is nothing like garden freshness!!! Isnt it amazing how God created awesome food to come out of the earth??? It amazes me each time I see it!
ReplyDeleteI so wish I could garden - being allergic to grass - I get so itchy dealing with tending to a garden... sigh... so I just snag up everyone else's tomatos... my brother started a HUGE garden this year - I'm totally sneaking over & plucking a few things! :)
Have fun with Scoot this weekend!!! You are so blessed to get so much time with that little angel!
Love gardening. There is something to be said for the flavor of something grown fresh from your own hands!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with Scoot and Dak this weekend! We are throwing a going away party for my oldest, Cait who leaves for Rhode Island on Tuesday for a couple weeks.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
How fun! I want a garden!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love gardening! There's nothing like the taste of fresh vegetables. I've missed reading your blog...been out of touch lately with school "stuff". Hope to get back into the swing of things soon. I love you new blog background. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great garden spot! I love watching how much things change and grow -literally overnight! It is just incredible!
ReplyDeletePraying that your garden produces more than enough to meet your family's needs this year!
Have a great time this weekend with that Lil Scoot! Speaking of things growing and changing overnight....
OH MY GOODNESS!!! I'm sooooo jealous.....your garden looks GREAT and it actually produces! LOL LOL!!! I am trying a pot garden this year and told my sister a little while ago that I have a bell pepper that has been the same size for two weeks. The cilantro has really taken off, however, it's really about out grown its self if that makes since. The tomatoes are the same size they were two weeks ago. So to make a long story short.....I think I wasted my time and money. We'll see!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend!
How fun! A hobby that reawards in a bounty of goodness.
ReplyDeleteBlessings ~ Lisa
