The Recovery Process.....

Good Morning All ~~

I am home and resting.
I came home on Tuesday
and have just been vegging on the couch mostly =)

When they got into my veterbrae,
they found that it was indeed
completely collapsed in on itself,
and the bone spur was large
and was sitting on a nerve.
They were able to get the bone spur off
and crush it up and use it to fill the cage
that now replaces my disc.

The lingering effects
I'm feeling is my left arm and hand.
It seems I have to think a little more to use it,
just like typing this post.
My left hand seems slower to me.
It is considerably weaker,
but yesterday for a bit
I felt like it was a little stronger.
But by bedtime it felt weak again.
So I'm sure this is just all a process.

I'm so thankful for God's timing in this.

They told me as bad as it was,
that just a small fender bender
or a fall,
could have caused paralysis.
I'm so very thankful.

God is so good!!

I am moving slowly.....
resting....
but recovering.

Thank you for the prayers ~~

Have a Blessed and Beautiful day ~~

  1. So glad you got in for surgery when you did.

Fun fact - I didnt know this - I was telling my mom about you last night (we had talked about inversion tables - which by the way, mine should be delivered today or tomorrow!!!!) - but my mom told me her sister had the exact same thing!!!!! Her function in her arm was gone & apparently they did the same surgery. Mom was telling me her voice had changed a bit from it. The things you learn about your family :)

  2. Sweet Dawn, I just read your comment on my post and it brought me to tears. The fact that you would take the time to pray for me is such a gift. I'm trying to be a big girl, but I am very sad. Most people don't understand but I practically raised JP since I was 14 when he was born. I'm happy, yet sad. Thank you, thank you for praying for me.

I'm so glad you had that surgery! I have written your name on a pad by my bed and promise to pray for your recovery daily. Psalm 138:8 "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me". He knows where you are. Also, he lays you on my heart from time to time and I pray for your son and for you.

    Love you, friend!
