Do Not Conform to this World...

So yesterday was the 1st of May and time for my next verse in the LPM Scripture Memorization.

My verse from last time is:

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights who does not change like shifting shadows.
18 He chose to give us birth through the Word of Truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all He created." James 1:17-18

God has so been speaking to me all year through these verses. He gives me just the verses that I need for the time and season that I am in. I love Him so!!

This time is:

Romans 12:1-2: "Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.
2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will."

I have always loved these verses, and God is so speaking to me through them right now, not just for me, but for some needs represented in a small group I'm apart of. I know that I've said this before, but I love memorizing scripture!!!

As I was holding Sky tonight and rocking him while he drank his bottle, it seemed my heart started hurting a little, that I am not able to have more children. This doesn't happen very much, but as I held him tonight I just longed to hold mine and hubs child and raise them and love them and love them and love them.

If you don't know my story on this you can go here. God is so precious to me and even though I know that pain is inevitable, I know that God has a plan. This I know. He has carried us through so much in our lives and will continue. Just writing this helps me. I don't usually post in the evening, this is probably why =)

So instead of wallowing in a pint of Ben & Jerry's and conforming to this world, I'm going to trust. I'm going to lay my head on my husband and drift off to sleep with G-babe at the foot of our bed knowing that I am truly a Blessed woman. I have an amazing husband, an incredible son, a wonderful stepson and his finacee, and a beautiful G-baby, what more could a woman ask for. God is good!!

Sleep well and have a Blessed Lord's day tomorrow,

  1. I was just telling Charlsie tonight that I'm nearly 45 and it still hasn't truly occurred to me that I will probably NEVER have another baby. I SO would in a moment!!!

    Great Scripture verses!!

  2. Yes, God is good - all the time. Praise Him for that!

I love the new verse you are memorizing, too. We just talked about that particular one in our small group a week ago. My husband, who is the small group leader, challenged all of us to memorize a favorite verse that we can recite the next time we meet, which will be this coming Friday.

I chose Psalm 100 because our pastor just spoke on it and I wanted to really know it. Our five children are learning it with me and we'll all say it together when the time comes. I want to model to them how important it is to memorize God's Word, but I have to be a good example first.

  3. Dawn- I just love your sweet heart and am sorry for your pain. But you are right...He knows, He has a perfect plan, and He is right there with you. Thanks for ministering and encouraging to so many people...including me!
